Forward-thinking Workplace, Parkland Corporation
Parkland's goal was to set an example in the Calgary market place for forward-thinking workplaces that put people first, and this is a key tool to help them attract and support top talent.
Parkland is one of the fastest-growing companies in Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean, providing fuel, petroleum, and retail services to their expanding client base. Their goal is to set an example in the Calgary market place for forward-thinking workplaces that put people first, and this is a key tool to help them attract and support top talent. We completed three new office locations including Calgary, Burnaby, and Montreal. They tapped Herman Miller and Contemporary Office Interiors for our ability to create an environment that can evolve at the rapid pace of their business needs, allowing them to change quickly and inexpensively while supporting their employees' workflow and ergonomic needs. In tandem with the InStudio design team, we achieved a spectacular space that reflects the Parkland brand and business objectives.
How did we Help them:
Leveraging the agility of Herman Miller’s Canvas Vista system, we created a flexible kit of parts that reflects their flat organizational style. This system allowed us to create forward-facing, back to back and benching applications that support the different business units, while allowing them to change their applications in both size and function with minimal downtime and cost. The space is not only functional, but it is also beautiful and is a unanimous success with their staff and leadership. Outside of the individual work-point, we leveraged Herman Miller’s family of brands to create one of a kind collaborative settings to support group work and team building environments. Brands like Hay, Naughtone, Geiger, Herman Miller Collection, Nemschoff, and Maharam allowed us to create something that was uniquely theirs. Each floor is colour coded: 15th floor Orange, 16th floor Red, 17th floor Green, 18th floor Blue, 19th floor Yellow.
